CAPEL MANOR GARDENS.
“There are over 60 gardens here, part of the horticultural college, occupying nearly half of the 30-hectare grounds in Enfield, north London. The site dates back to the late 13th century with the current house built in the Georgian era. The college started in 1968 and the gardens a year later. Just off the A10, it is a good place to start a tour of the area with Myddelton House Gardens and Forty Hill just around the corner and Crews Hill with its many plant nurseries. One of my favourite gardens here is the Australian garden designed by Jim Fogerty, which was featured at the Chelsea flower show in 2011 and then rebuilt on-site here.”
