The Scots Pine was selected for its sculptural 'Cloud form', which frames the view to the east with Canary Wharf in the distance. The pine is slow growing, evergreen and wind-resistant and is planted asymmetrically within the specially designed planter. The planter is triangular to fit in this corner of the terrace and appears to float above a slanted recess.
